M&M'S BAYC NFT
M&M's limited edition candies by BAYC NFT
Candy brand Mars has launched limited edition M&M's inspired by NFT, featuring Bored Ape and Kingship on each candy. Mars has partnered with Universal Music Group's (UMG) 10:22PM label to create limited-edition M&M's based on Kingship, a virtual band consisting of three Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) avatars and one Mutant Ape Yacht Club (MAYC) avatar.
As part of this new agreement, the monkey avatars depicted in NFT's art will be printed on chocolate candy in limited edition packs. There are a total of 4,000 limited edition packs, divided into two levels of rarity.
The regular level is packaged in 3,900 celebratory brown gift boxes. The premium level consists of 100 "gold edition" boxes wrapped in white and gold foil, with the numbers 1 to 100 and monkeys of Kingship members printed on the M&Ms.
In addition, 6,000 gift tins of candy were put on sale today through the M&M's website. Kingship Key Card NFT holders had early access to this promotion, indicating that the gold edition boxes may have already run out.
Bored Ape Yacht Club owners have used their intellectual property rights to turn their NFT images into everything from clothing to toys, restaurants, and even alcohol packaging. Recently, Shammi Shinh's BAYC NFT champagne bottle sold for as much as $2.5 million.
Jane Hwang, global vice president of Mars Wrigley, said she was excited about this launch: "Consumers' expectations of what they want from their favorite brands have changed, and we at Mars know we need to be more innovative than ever with a culturally famous brand like M&M's."
